WAX is excited to break out the poutine, smoked meat sandwiches and other French-Canadian stereotypes as we welcome our newest art director Daniel Fontaine, direct from Montreal, Quebec. We’re excited to have Daniel here (for more reasons that having him teach us all the good French-Canadian swear words).
Fun fact: Daniel comes to us as the candidate we selected from the 30+ applications we received from all over the world as part of our WAX One-Year Break initiative.
Daniel stood out to us with his 15+ years of art directing, web designing, animating and motion graphics-ing at agencies in Montreal and Calgary. In other words, he’s kind of a Swiss-Army knife of design skills. He’s worked at some of the country’s top shops including McCann Montreal and Ogilvy Montreal and we’re excited to have him join the WAX family.
Don’t be fooled by his suave French-Canadian accent, Daniel is already practically a Calgarian as a part-time ranch-hand on weekends. Seriously, we couldn’t believe it either, which is why we included this picture of him wrestling cattle. His experience with cows must be all those years eating Montreal smoked meat, right Daniel? What’s that? Yeah, we know it’s just a stereotype.
