We sent design director Monique Gamache and account director Maddie Gauthier back to the land of textbooks, study halls and cramming all night for exams. They spent a week in New Haven, Connecticut at the Business Perspectives for Creative Leaders conference put on by the Yale School of Management in partnership with the AIGA (American Institute for Graphic Artists).
For one week, they were immersed in business concepts like negotiation skills, organizational change and fostering innovation, along with their classmates–25 creatives minds from around the world. When they weren’t in class, they were taking in the ivy-league architecture, checking out local drinking holes, eating clam pizza and being serenaded by the Yale acapella group.
After completing their course, they returned to WAX with not only a wealth of innovative ideas, but also sweet Yale sweatshirts and the ability to casually drop the fact they attended Yale in conversation.
