Jordan Finlayson, our newest copywriter, hails from the most easterly point in North America, St. John’s Newfoundland. He spent the last two years out east working on Scouts Canada, Maple Leaf Foods, Parks Canada, Perchance Theatre and Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism — to name a few.
Having worked on everything from writing punchy headlines for local clients to rolling out national campaigns, Jordan adds additional depth to our creative department. He also brings a pile of recent award wins with him.
Over the past few months, Jordan has won Best of Show not once, but twice. The first win came at the Adrian Awards in New York City — the ‘Oscars’ of the travel and tourism industry with 40+ participating countries and 1,200 entries — where his geo-targeted campaign for Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism tied with Grey NYC for Best of Show. That evening, his for work NL Tourism also won a number of Platinum and Gold awards to round out the night.
Jordan’s second Best of Show win came at the ICE Awards, Atlantic Canada’s premiere advertising & design competition, for his work on the ‘Symphony of Sound’ campaign — he was also recognized that evening for an additional 15 awards.
Not to be outdone, Jordan also picked up a bronze at the Marketing Awards last month, a win at the Applied Arts Design Awards and was shortlisted for a Crystals Award. Needless to say, we’re hoping that he can continue his winning streak with the team at WAX.
When Jordan isn’t writing headlines or concepting ideas, you can find him searching for inspiration in coffee shops, movie theatres or the mountains.
